I've written an article on terrain for Spinespur, specifically the Scrapyards (I'm building a Scrapyards board) and posted it to my blog. It's a blow by blow on how to create a Sniperwreck, which is a nice little shielded perch from which a sniper can blow people's heads off. Good times, good times.

Anyways, if you want to know how I made these, click the link.

Here's a pic of the sniperwreck on my Scrapyards terrain board, which I finished this afternoon.

Assuming that youre asking about avalanche terrain:

Flat.

Grab Bruce Trempers Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain. Read it along with the 15 year old. Talk about whats in it together. By the time youre done, youll know enough to modify "Flat" into something more interesting.

Other texts will suffice, but SAIAT is modern and readable. Taking an Avy 1 course together or, as a start, attending an avalanche awareness seminar theyre usually free and offered by outdoor retailers or community service organizations.
